How We Use Information

How We Share Information
Sonar uses service providers to operate the app. Supabase provides authentication, database, and backend services. Podcast Index provides podcast catalog search and metadata. Search requests and podcast identifiers may be used to return catalog results.
Your public-facing Sonar activity may be visible in the app, including your username, profile, ratings, reviews, followers, following, and podcast activity that powers feeds and community pages.
Sonar may disclose information when required to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

- Manage social data: You can change who you follow and which podcasts you follow from within Sonar.
- Request help: You can contact support to ask about accessing, correcting, exporting, or deleting account information.
- Limit support data: When contacting support, only send screenshots or device details you are comfortable sharing.
Retention and Security
Sonar keeps account and podcast activity information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain your account, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations.
Sonar uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but Sonar works to keep account and activity data protected.
Children
Sonar is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Sonar, contact support so the information can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

Sonar may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When the policy changes, the updated date on this page will be revised. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
